A Charleston, West Virginia woman was arrested Monday, December 5 after allegedly driving under the influence and crashing her vehicle in Marshall County.
According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, a call came into the Dispatch Center just after 10 p.m. ET where the caller said an alleged impaired driver was traveling northbound on U.S. 31 and crashed on U.S. 31 north of U.S. 30.
Emergency services arrived at the scene. Police say a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe was off of the east side of the road on US. 31 and had collided with the support of a large sign.
The driver, 64-year-old Marsha A. George, was transported to the hospital for evaluation.
During the course of the investigation, police found that Marsha George was intoxicated at the time of the collision, according to the report.
Marsha George was arrested on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a BAC at/above .15, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated-endangering.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
