Suspect Arrested in Plymouth Shooting Investigation

A suspect has been arrested as a result of an investigation into a shooting incident in Plymouth.

The alleged incident occurred Tuesday, November 29 just after 8 p.m. ET in the 800 block of W. Adams Street were a female suffered a gunshot wound. The victim was transported by Plymouth EMS to the hospital with a gunshot wound to a lower extremity, according to the report.  The suspect in the incident reportedly left the scene prior to the officer’s arrival.

In an update provided Tuesday, December 13, Plymouth Police Department officers say a warrant for the suspect’s arrest was granted Friday, December 2.  The suspect, 20-year-old Dakota Young of Plymouth, was apprehended in Kentucky by the Kentucky State Police on December 2, according to the report.

Young is currently incarcerated in Kentucky awaiting extradition to Marshall County. 

Young faces two Level 2 Felony counts of robbery resulting in serious bodily injury, a Level 3 Felony charge of aggravated battery, a Level 5 Felony charge of criminal recklessness, and a Level 6 Felony charge of pointing a firearm at another person. 

Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
