Officials with the Marshall/Starke Special Olympics program have submitted required paperwork with Special Olympics Indiana to have adult and youth basketball programs.
So far, 17 athletes have signed up for the basketball programs.
The adult team, the Wildcats, will have regular games and move to the post-season with Sectionals. If the team wins the Sectional game, the players will advance to the state competition at the Pacers Athletic Complex in Westfield in the first weekend of April.
The Firecats, which is the youth basketball team, will have regular games, but will automatically advance to state and play March 25 at the University of Indianapolis.
Both teams have a volunteer head coach and assistant coach with practices at the Culver Community School Corporation.
