The Culver Community School Board took time last week to recognize Julie Ritzler for her years of service on the school board. She did not seek another term on the board.
Ritzler was elected into office in 2018. She was the North Bend Township representative on the board.
Before Ritzler’s recognition, the board agreed to advertise for bus bids. Even though the school corporation has not received the last buses purchased, the school board wants to keep in line with the Bus Replacement Plan as previously approved during the budget process.
Transportation Director Paul Widman hopes that the buses purchased will be delivered in summer 2023.
Superintendent Karen Shuman said bids will be taken for four buses in 2023, according to the Bus Replacement Plan. She noted that one bus bid is for an electric bus, which would only be purchased if a grant is received.
