Culver Community School Board to Consider Purchase of Accounting Software

Culver Community School Corporation Business Manager/Treasurer Casey Howard gave the school board some information on purchasing new accounting software for her office.

She said the current software is DOS-based and outdated. A web-based version is available through the same company, Computrol, and there are several features with the newer system that would simplify operations.

Howard explained that she is negotiating a price with the company to customize a package for the corporation for specific operations of the system offered that would be utilized by the business office.  The base package is an annual fee of $20,000, with the next level at $26,000 and the top level at $34,000.

Howard said with negotiations ongoing and a final price to be calculated, she asked the board to consider approval of the accounting software purchase at the next meeting.  Since the purchase request was on the agenda, the board unanimously approved a motion to table the discussion.
