The Bourbon Town Council members approved the trash ordinance for 2023 during their most recent meeting.

In October, the Bourbon Town Council awarded a new trash contract to Borden Waste Away out of Elkhart. The company presented the lowest proposal with $15.83 for the first year of the contract, $16.61 for the second year, and $17.45 for the third year. Bourbon residents will see a $.56 increase per month in trash collection in the first year.

The new trash service will begin in January.  Residents should have the new toters, but the Republic Services totes should be used until the end of the year.

It was noted that Republic Services contacted the Town of Bourbon to inform them that the next trash pick up by Republic Services will be on Saturday, December 31.
