Registered Sex Offender Arrested for Not Registering Residence

A registered sex offender was arrested Monday, October 31 in Marshall County for allegedly not registering his current address with the proper authorities.

According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, Robert Lee Perez, Jr. is a registered sex offender having been convicted of child molesting through Fulton County.  He is classified as a sex offender with a 10 year requirement to register annually, in addition to change of information including residency and employment within 72 hours of the change.

Police say Perez has a registered home in Monterey through Pulaski County and he was registered in Marshall County for employment only.

An investigation found that Perez had been living at the address of 821 N. Michigan Street in Plymouth since March of this year without properly registering that address, according to police.  Police say Perez was found to have four prior convictions for failure to register as a sex offender.

A warrant was issued for his arrest for the crime of failure to register as sex offender with a prior conviction as a Level 5 Felony and a cash bond set in the amount of $10,000.   He was taken into custody Monday, October 31 at the Plymouth address.

Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
