HVAC Project Slightly Delayed at Culver Community School Corporation

Culver Community School Superintendent Karen Shuman updated the school board last week on the ongoing HVAC project at the corporation.

The school board previously agreed to spend ESSER II money to replace HVAC units in the Middle/High School and the Elementary School.

The largest unit in the Middle/High School is done and working.  The air handler by the High School Media Room was removed and work was started to install a new unit.  The work is two weeks behind in completion.  A rooftop unit at the Elementary School above the cafeteria is up and running.  An air handling unit on top of the stairway on the south end of the building is in place, but an electrician will return to complete service.

The unit by the library is disassembled and in parts.

In all, Shuman said all HVAC units should be installed and working by Thanksgiving.

“Technically, everything should be up and running before Thanksgiving, but there may be final inspections and programming before the deadline of the 30th of this month,” said Shuman.

The project needs to be done by the end of November, per the contract.
