The Bremen Town Council members took action Monday to approve a contract for an upcoming storm water project.
The project would include replacing old storm water lines and other work on Center Street from Mill Street and south to the park.
During the last meeting, Engineer Ken Jones from Jones Petrie and Rafinski asked the council to approve the low base bid and the alternate bid submitted by Haskins Underground in the amount of $491,737.
The council unanimously voted Monday of this week to approve a contract with Haskins Underground. Following that action, Jones asked the council to approve a change order that would reduce the project cost by $123,756 as his firm was able to work with the contractor to reduce some costs to be more within what the town has budgeted for the project, as the bids received were over the estimated cost of the project. That change order was also unanimously approved by the council.
The project is anticipated to begin in spring of 2023.
