Motorists and pedestrians are experiencing a change in the downtown Plymouth area as the Complete Streets Committee conducts another tactical urbanism project.
Committee representative Allie Shook previously presented the information about the safety project to the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members which will include curb extensions at the intersection of Michigan Street and Garro Street.
There are new, temporary bump-outs at the intersection which are designed to slow traffic to yield to the safety of walkers and bikers in the downtown area.
The adjusted intersection will be in effect until the end of October.
The project was to be done in August, but there was a delay with the permit process.
A similar temporary project was completed near Serenity Place on Jefferson Street and another on East Jefferson Street near the Coffee Lodge building.
The Plymouth Complete Streets Committee will review the project survey responses and report back to the city on the findings and results of the project.
