John Glenn School Corporation Receives Digital Learning Grant

Urey Middle School Principal Gregg Goewert and John Glenn School Corporation Director of Learning Tim Davis recently applied for a Digital Learning Grant and were successful in getting the grant worth $50,000.

Goewert told the John Glenn School Board members Tuesday night that the grant funds will be used for a variety of things in grades K-12.

“Some the highlights would be the dual credit Art class at the High School – getting some new laptops and some new software to support the cool things that they do,” said Goewert.  “One of our initiatives with this grant was digital learning in Art. If you think about STEM, just add the ‘A’ and think about it more as STEAM.”

He also mentioned 3D pens at the Elementary School.

Goewert added that the corporation should know today (October 7) if they were successful in receiving an Integrated STEM grant worth $50,000.

He commented that there are a lot of STEM activities students are involved in that are helping the school corporation get grant dollars to further programs and educational opportunities.
