The John Glenn School Board opened a public hearing last week to take comments on the proposed contract for the superintendent of schools.
The base salary is $132,400, but the superintendent would receive the same annual percentage of an increase as the teachers would receive. The board cost of health, dental and vision insurance would be $1,836 for this school year with rates dependent on renewal information each year through the 2026-2027 school year.
For the 2022-2023 school year, the board will also contribute costs toward long term disability insurance in the amount of $405, term life insurance at $468, Indiana State Teacher’s Retirement Fund at $12,789, tax-sheltered annuity at $5,000, and IRS Mileage at the current rate. The contributions for each school year through 2027 will depend on the current rates.
The superintendent would also have 15 paid days off, 11 sick days, and 5 continuing education days. The annual HSA contribution will be $4,700.
There were no public comments given during last week’s meeting.
The school board will consider the approval of the contract during their next meeting Tuesday, November 1.
