Two people were arrested Saturday, September 10 after a two-county pursuit that started in Marshall County.
Officers from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop near the intersection of U.S. 30 and Oak Drive, but the vehicle reportedly did not stop and a pursuit began.
The vehicle continued to travel in the northbound and southbound lanes of U.S. 31 into St. Joseph County. Police say the vehicle eventually stopped and the driver, 39-year-old Joseph Hudson of Plymouth, fled on foot and was quickly apprehended.
Hudson was found to have a suspended license and a felony warrant for his arrest, as well as a valid protective order preventing communication with a passenger in the vehicle, identified as 30-year-old Amanda Duckett of Elkhart, according to the report.
Hudson was arrested and booked in the Marshall County Jail on preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement, reckless driving, and invasion of privacy, along with the arrest warrant. He is being held on a $5,000 cash bond.
Duckett was arrested and booked in the Marshall County Jail on a preliminary charge of assisting a criminal. She has since posted bond.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
