Marshall County Assessor Debbie Dunning and Marshall County Coroner John Grolich were given awards during the recent Association of Indiana Counties (AIC) Conference held in St. Joseph County.
Dunning received the 2022 Outstanding County Assessor Award for her contributions made to county government during her four terms as assessor. She has worked in the office since 2000. She has a Level 3 Assessor/Appraiser Certification. She is a licensed Real Estate Appraiser, licensed Real Estate Broker and has 11 years mortgage banking experience. She will be retiring at the end of this year.
Grolich received the 2022 Outstanding County Coroner Award for his contributions made to county government throughout his years of public service. Grolich worked 50 years as a Firefighter and 47 years in EMS. He obtained funding and provided training for over 100 Automated External Defibrillators which were placed in the hands of emergency responders and school systems of Marshall County. He was promoted as Chief Deputy Coroner from 1997 to 2000, and then was elected and served as coroner from 2001-2009 and 2017 to present. Grolich is also a Certified Medical Legal Death Investigator.
The AIC’s Annual Conference is the largest gathering of county officials in the state.
