Bourbon Town Council holds Public Hearing for 2023 Budget

The Bourbon Town Council held the public hearing for the 2023 Budget proposal during the regular meeting on Tuesday evening.

The budget is available for viewing online at Indiana Gateway / Indiana Department of Local Government Finance (DLGF) (in.gov).

According to the proposed budget published on Gateway, the estimated budget for the following funds is as follows: 0061- Rainy Day $80,000, 0101-General $1,109,850, 0706-Local Road and Street $30,000, 0708-Motor Vehicle Highway $331,975, 1151- Continuing Education $6,000, 2379-Cumulative Capital IMP (CIG TAX) $30,000, 2391-Cumulative Capital Development $60,000, 9500-Home Rule Fund- EMS – Compton $30,150, 9501-Home Rule Fund – Fire Compton $50,000, and 9502- Home Rule Fund – Park Donations – $10,000.

The total budget estimate proposed for 2023 is $1,737,975 with an estimated Civil Max Tax Levy in the amount of $967,611. The current tax levy totals $922,443. The Property Tax Cap Credit Estimate is $213,630.

The budget will be adopted on Tuesday, September 27 at 6 p.m. at the Town Hall located at 104 E. Park Avenue, Bourbon.
