One driver was transported to the hospital following a two-vehicle accident in Marshall County Sunday, August 14.
Deputies from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and emergency responders were dispatched to the accident in the area of U.S. 31 and 19th Road. Police say Linda Handelsman of Bloomington told officers that she fell asleep while driving south on U.S. 31 in the left lane. Witnesses stated that the vehicle crossed through the median from the left southbound lanes and entered northbound traffic on U.S. 31, according to police. Thomas Szymanski, Jr. of Granger said he was unable to avoid the collision.
Police say Handelsman was transported to the hospital for injuries sustained in the accident.
