The Marshall County Health Department offers recommendations for all schools as students and staff members return to school this week.
Parents, caregivers or guardians are encouraged to monitor children for symptoms of infectious illnesses before they leave for school through home-based symptom screening.
The Health Department does not recommend quarantine or contact tracing in schools.
Students and staff have the option of wearing a mask.
Individuals who test positive with COVID-19 should isolate for five days at home. A return to school may be allowed on day six if symptoms are improving or are resolved. A mask must be worn days 6-10.
The Health Department will continue to work with school administrators to monitor for any cluster cases of COVID-19 in the school setting and offer guidance.
