Students in need of school supplies are welcome to attend a back-to-school bash Saturday, August 6 in Walkerton.
John Glenn School Corporation Superintendent Christopher Winchell told the John Glenn School Board members this week that backpacks full of supplies will be available to children in downtown Walkerton from 10 a.m. to noon ET. Look for the school bus in the area of Illinois Street and U.S. 6!
There will be 150 backpacks full of school supplies for students in need of items prior to the start of school next week. Backpacks will be available on a first come, first served basis. If supplies run out and a family is in need, Winchell said the family can call the school for assistance.
Winchell said several businesses and organizations have stepped up this year and made this event possible. It is growing every year. The school board members thanked all of the sponsors who make this possible for students.
