Anderson Man Arrested in Plymouth Following Pursuit

An Anderson man was arrested after reportedly leading police on a pursuit through Plymouth early Sunday evening.

Plymouth Police Department officers were notified of a stolen vehicle entering the south side of the city on Michigan Street just before 5:30 p.m. ET.  An officer spotted the vehicle at Washington Street and initiated a traffic stop on East Harrison Street.  The vehicle initially stopped, but the driver did not comply with officers to exit the vehicle, according to the report. Police say a pursuit ensued that went on for nearly four miles through Plymouth before the driver, 28-year-old Damarcus D. Wright, left the vehicle and fled on foot. The vehicle was reportedly left in gear when Wright left the vehicle and it crashed into a utility pole.

Wright was apprehended by Marshall County Sheriff’s Department K9 Diesel until officers took Wright into custody.

Wright was transported to the hospital for treatment and then booked into the Marshall County Jail on preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement with a vehicle and possession of stolen property.

Suspects are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty in a court of law.
