Visitors have until Monday, September 5 to enjoy a Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service exhibit at the Culver-Union Township Public Library.
According to Find Culver, the Water/Ways exhibit provides a comprehensive look at water which is an essential component of life, environmentally, culturally, and historically. It looks at how water plays a practical role in American society and ways water resources are protected and respected in the natural environment.
The Smithsonian Water/Ways exhibit will include the Vonnegut Exhibit which is a companion exhibit.
Several programs accompany this exhibit including a special presentation called Indiana: the Everglades of the North Saturday, July 30 at 1 p.m. ET in the downstairs meeting room in the library. The Conservation Water Cruise is Thursday, August 4 at 6:30 p.m. ET for a one-of-a-kind tour around Lake Maxinkuckee, and the Mighty Macros Children Program is Saturday, August 6 at 10:30 a.m. ET at the Library Clubhouse where children ages 6-10 can learn about macroinvertebrates and pollutants in the water.
The exhibit at the Culver-Union Township Public Library was made possible by grant funding provided by Indiana Humanities. The library staff, along with the Lake Maxinkuckee Environmental Fund, and Culver Visitor Center invite all to attend the exhibit.
