The Plymouth Community School Corporation (PCSC) School Board approved meal prices for the 2022-2023 School Year.
“The USDA Food and Nutrition Services have granted a waiver of the Paid Lunch Equity tool for school year 2022 and 2023. This waiver allows us to limit increases or not increase at all to our lunch prices,” said Amy Collins, director of Food Service at PCSC. She informed the board that the Keep Kids Fed Act Bill, signed by President Joseph Biden on June 25, provides a higher reimbursement rate of 40 cents per each lunch, 15 cents for each breakfast in order to combat rising food costs. “So, upon considering our budget, reimbursement rates, and our increased food costs, I ask that we keep our pricing the same in order to decrease the burden that families who have not paid for meals over the past two years may feel.”
Currently, those prices are:
• $1.25 for breakfast at all schools.
• 30 cents for reduced breakfast price meal plan.
• $1.60 for breakfast for adults.
• $2.05 for lunch at all elementary schools and Riverside.
• 40 cents for reduced lunch price meal plan.
• $2.15 for lunch at LJH and PHS.
• $2.85 for lunch for adults.
• 35 cents for milk for students.
• 40 cents for milk for adults.
The board unanimously voted to keep those prices the same.
