Four people were arrested Wednesday, July 27 after a traffic stop was conducted at 9:15 p.m. ET in the area of the Pilot Travel Center in Plymouth by a deputy from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.
Police say during the traffic stop K9 Diesel was deployed and conducted an open-sir sniff around the vehicle. The K9 reportedly alerted to the presence of narcotic odors in the vehicle. As a result, the vehicle was searched by officers where suspected fentanyl was located, according to the report.
The four occupants in the car were arrested and taken to the Marshall County Jail. The driver of the vehicle, 25-year-old Ashley New of Winona Lake, and passengers 30-year-old Nathan Prater of Winona Lake and 31-year-old Cameran Carver of Leesberg were each booked on a preliminary charge of possession of cocaine or narcotic drug. A fourth person in the vehicle, 29-year-old Latisha Williams of Leesburg, reportedly had marijuana in her possession that was found when she was at the jail. Williams faces preliminary charges of possession of cocaine or a narcotic drug and possession of marijuana.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty in a court of law.
