A Culver man was injured Tuesday night in an accident involving two vehicles on U.S. 31 south of 13th Road at the railroad tracks in Marshall County.
Marshall County Sheriff’s Department deputies say a semi tractor hauling an empty fuel tanker was stopped at the railroad tracks to yield for any possible trains when a white Chevy van driven by 60-year-old Scott Krull, of Culver, reportedly failed to change his lane of travel and drove into the rear of the tanker.
Krull was airlifted from the scene by the Samaritan medical helicopter. The driver of the semi, 49-year-old Bart Bomback, of Indianapolis, was not injured.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by Samaritan, Plymouth Fire and EMS, Argos Police Department, and Indiana State Police.
