A Bremen woman was arrested Thursday, June 30 following an investigation into a call from a Marshall County Probation Department about an alleged intoxicated woman leaving the Probation Office in the Marshall County Building.
A Marshall County Sheriff’s Department deputy was notified of the situation around 9:45 a.m. ET. The officer was in the building at the time of the notification. Police say the officer located the woman, 50-year-old Caralisa M. Staiger, leaving the parking lot in her vehicle.
Staiger was stopped by the officer and an OWI investigation was conducted at the scene, according to the report. She allegedly failed field sobriety tests and a portable breath test. Police say a search warrant was obtained for a certified chemical test where probable cause was later found that Staiger was operating while intoxicated with a prior conviction. She was taken to the Marshall County Jail and later released after posting a cash bond.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty in a court of law.
