The Triton School Board members opened a public hearing Monday night to take public comments on the board’s decision to go through a bond process to complete needed projects at the corporation.
Superintendent Jeremy Riffle said several projects are planned with a $1.6 million bond.
“Some of those include high school electric and updating some of those boxes and wiring, auditorium lights and sound, AV and auditorium cosmetics, making some adjustments to the High School Office and the Elementary Office due to the fact that we’re adding a couple of new staff members in those areas, and just some upkeep to Door 4 which has shown some signs of decay over the years.”
There were no comments from the public. Riffle said resolutions pertaining to the continuation of the bond sale process were unanimously approved.
He commented that the bond sale will have little impact to taxpayers.
“It’s a tax neutrality bond and our tax rate increase approximately three cents per $100,000 assessed value.”
The projects are anticipated to begin in 2023.
