Several capital projects are beginning at the Culver Community School Corporation with some work to be completed by the start of the school year.
Superintendent Karen Shuman updated the school board on those upcoming projects last week.
“Carpet is being removed and replaced at the Middle/High School,” explained Shuman. “HVAC ESSER II project – we’re replacing some air handling units. The anticipated schedule is the big monster that is in the middle of the Middle/High School will be replaced the first week of August. In order to do that, they have to remove a wall. They hope to have it up and running by August 11 which is the first student day.”
Other HVAC updates will be done during the Labor Day holiday at the Middle School/High School and two units will be done at the Elementary School during fall break.
Shuman added that the school is accepting bids for sidewalk work for the press box at the baseball field and a potential lighting bid.
