The Culver Community School Board members approved the advertisement of a public hearing for the school superintendent’s contract for Monday, May 16 during the board’s regularly scheduled meeting.
The contract states that current superintendent Karen Shuman would be on contact from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2025 and be paid a total salary of $114,000 annually. In addition to the salary, an annual stipend of $3,000 will be paid for all car expenses, parking lot charges, meals, and mileage required for school business. All hotel expenses for approved school business will be reimbursed.
Administrators will receive an annuity consisting of a percentage of the base salary according to years of service as an administrator.
The board will pay for a family plan of medical and prescription insurance, and a family plan for dental and vision insurance, long-term disability insurance, and $100,000 term life insurance during the contract.
The superintendent is allowed 13 paid holidays per year, 20 vacation days, five personal days, and 12 sick days per year.
The public hearing will be at 7 p.m. ET at the Culver Administration Building.
