Memorial Day Services Planned in Plymouth

Memorial Day services are planned for Monday, May 30 in the City of Plymouth.

The day begins at 10 a.m. ET at the Marshall County Courthouse with the placing of the wreath and Firing Squad salute. Following that, a wreath will be dropped into the Yellow River at the Michigan Street bridge, south of LaPorte Street.

The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. ET at the New Oakhill Cemetery where Pastor Michael Dixon from the Maple Grove United Methodist Church will deliver the invocation.  This year’s guest speaker is Marshall County Veterans Service Officer Pam Schweizer-Betz.  She has held that position since 2012.  She served as an Army Combat Medic with the 384th MP Unit out of Fort Wayne.

Additionally, the Plymouth High School band will play patriotic songs and Mayor Mark Senter will address those in attendance.
