While the cases are not in high numbers as in the past, COVID-19 cases continue to be reported locally.
Marshall County Public Health Nurse Sandy Dunfee told MAX 98.3 FM news that 84 cases were reported in the month of April and that there has been a small uptick in cases in the last few weeks. She noted those who have been diagnosed have only had mild symptoms.
Dunfee encourages residents to get a COVID-19 test who are experiencing symptoms of sneezing, coughing, runny nose, chest congestion, fever, sore throat, or shortness of breath.
She said testing continues at the testing site behind Lifeplex at 2855 Miller Drive in Plymouth on Monday from noon to 6 p.m., and Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Testing is also available on the second Saturday of every month from 8 a.m. to noon ET. Appointments can be scheduled at www.coronavirus.in.gov.
COVID-19 vaccinations and booster shots are offered at the Marshall County Health Department at 510 W. Adams Street in Plymouth on Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET. Appointments can be scheduled at www.ourshot.in.gov or call 574-935-8565.
Dunfee noted that COVID-19 home tests will be available to Marshall County residents soon. More information will be available when they arrive for distribution.
