The Argos School Board members took action this week to approve proposed purchases of equipment for the corporation.
Superintendent Ned Speicher said some Title I reading furniture was purchased with grant funding. The board approved a bid from the Lee Company for $30,299.40 for that furniture.
The board also approved the cost of a new sound system for the main gymnasium from Acorn Sound Technology in the amount of $26,511.
Speicher said the goal is to get these projects done this summer.
Additionally, the board approved several donations which included $240 from the Argos Lions Club for plaques for student awards. Gen-Tech Farm Seed donated spray and fertilizer for all of the athletic fields, and the Argos Lions Club and the Argos Public Library donated 100 Constitution books for the seniors.
