The Marshall County Community Foundation recently announced the spring grant awards from Community Funds totaling $47,043 and the Ralph C. Vonnegut, Jr. Fund totaling $2,500.
The Marshall County Parks and Recreation Department was awarded $17,297 in Community Funds to conduct a Natural Feature Inventory for Mill Pond and the Marshall County Memorial Forest. Other Community Fund grant recipients include Cultivate Culinary School and Catering for $5,000 to support the Cultivate Cares Food Network that provides food and meals to Marshall County food pantries, Culver Community Schools for $2,500 to purchase ice and hot water machines for the elementary cafeteria program, Culver Youth League for $4,500 to repair baseball and softball restroom facilities, Oakhaven Community for $4,746 to purchase computers and computer equipment for older residents they serve, Triton Summer League Baseball/Town of Bourbon for $3,000 to purchase upgraded baseball and softball machines for youth, and Leadership Marshall County for a $10,000 matching grant to support expansion of the program.
Additionally, the Lake Maxinkuckee Environmental Fund was awarded $2,500 in Ralph C. Vonnegut funds to help fund the painting of murals in and around Culver teaching artistic and environmental concepts related to Lake Maxinkuckee.
