The Argos Community School Board members discussed several upcoming projects Monday night that are anticipated to get underway this summer and within next year.
Superintendent Ned Speicher said the architect gave an update on what is proposed. He stressed that project costs will have no tax impact to taxpayers.
Speicher said a couple of projects will be done this summer.
“This summer we’re going to do painting in gym 2 and put some new padding up under the bleachers,” said Speicher.
He commented that a much bigger project is expected to start within the next year or so.
Speicher added, “We’re going to add on to our cafeteria for more seating for our increase enrollment and remodel our cafeteria. We’re also going to upgrade our student lockers and put in some mechanical units.”
As part of the process, the board approved several invoices for the architect pertaining to the cafeteria expansion project.
Meanwhile, construction will begin on the new playground this week.
