Argos Community School Board Considers Pay Increase for Hourly Employees

The Argos Community School Board members reviewed information this week concerning a pay increase for the corporation’s hourly employees.

Superintendent Ned Speicher said those employees would include custodians, teacher aides, bus drivers, secretaries, cafeteria workers, and any other hourly workers.

Speicher explained, “We are giving to our hourly employees a $2.00-per-hour adjustment. It’s a sign of the times.  That’s very significant for them.  They will get a two percent or three percent increase depending on their evaluation and performance.”

Speicher noted that the adjustments will take effect July 1.

The board approved the pay increases with a unanimous vote.
