South Bend Woman Arrested on Suspicion of Drug Possession

A South Bend woman was arrested Saturday, March 5 after police allegedly found drugs in her vehicle following a traffic stop.

The traffic stop was initiated around 5 p.m. ET. During the course of the traffic stop, K9 Diesel was deployed and alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle, according to the report.  The officer searched the vehicle and reportedly found suspected heroin, methamphetamine, crack-cocaine, drug paraphernalia and syringes.  Police say a juvenile was in the vehicle. 

The driver, identified as 31-year-old Kandice Craig, was transported to the Marshall County Jail.  She was arrested on preliminary charges of neglect of a dependent; possession of cocaine or a narcotic drug, methamphetamine, and paraphernalia; unlawful possession of a syringe; and driving while suspended with a prior conviction. 

Craig has since bonded out of the Marshall County Jail.

Suspects are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty in a court of law.
