Plymouth Man Arrested on Suspicion of Auto Theft

A Plymouth man was arrested Thursday evening after an officer from the Plymouth Police Department responded to a call regarding auto theft.

A Plymouth officer responded to a restaurant on N. Michigan Street where a Door Dash delivery driver said his vehicle was stolen from the parking lot, according to the report.  Police say a delivery app was used to track the vehicle and it was found to be traveling around the west side of Plymouth.  The vehicle was reportedly located at State Road 17 and Pioneer Drive.

A traffic stop was conducted in the parking lot of the Plymouth hospital where the driver, James Watts, was arrested on a preliminary charge of auto theft and taken to the Marshall County Jail.

Suspects are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty in a court of law.
