Plymouth Board of Public Works approved 8th annual “Art in the Street”

The Plymouth Board of Public Works (BPW) approved the street closure request made by the President of Heartland Artists Gallery Anna Kietzman for the 8th annual Art in the Street event Saturday, July 30.

Gallery members will also be presenting an artistic montage to be displayed in the City of Plymouth Office.

The board approved the request made by Utility Superintendent Donnie Davidson to begin the search for a replacement for an employee at the Water Department who will be retiring.

Cemetery Superintendent Michael Collins requested permission to utilize the assistance of Plymouth Fire Department and the Street Department in safely moving and burning a large brush pile on the property. Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt and Fire Chief Steve Holm confirmed the willingness to assist. The board approved.

The board also approved Chief Holm’s request to extend an offer to hire to two qualified candidates contingent upon their successful completion of the pension test.

The board ratified Mayor Mark Senter’s signature on the Storm Sewer Easement documents that he signed prior to the meeting due to critical deadlines. The board approved of his prudent action.
