The Culver Community School Board members accepted funding last week to expand the availability of connectivity in the school district, according to Superintendent Karen Shuman.
“We have received $132,000 to help more with connectivity through a partnership with Rochester Telephone Company to get fiber to areas east of Culver. Students are located in that rural area,” explained Shuman.
In other corporation news, the school board members agreed to join many other school corporations in the state and in the nation in the JUUL Legislation that alleges vaping is harmful to students.
Additionally, the HVAC project has been delayed. It was to take place this summer, but due to issues with the delivery of HVAC equipment, it has been pushed to the fall. Shuman said the board approved contract extensions due to the delay.
The project includes the replacement of air handling units at the Middle School/High School and at the Elementary School. The project will be paid for with ESSER III funding.
