The Bremen Public School Board members are considering some updates to the facilities on campus following a report given by Baker Tilly officials last week.
Superintendent Dr. Jim White explained that some debt is rolling off and the board members are considering using that opportunity to get some needed projects done around the school corporation without raising taxes.
“We have a long list of things that we want to do,” stated Dr. White. “First up, we have about $1.1 million from the ESSER funds left over that we’ve dog-eared to replace the lintels above our windows – the metal that holds up all of the brick. Those are failing and water is infiltrating in through those failures. So, we’re going to marry our first finance obligation with that.”
There are also discussions about repairing the fascia at the Elementary/Middle School, replacing windows, waterproofing, along with heating and cooling in that building.
The board will be focusing more on those projects in the coming months.
