The Argos Community School Board members are encouraged with the energy savings realized with the solar energy field on the corporation’s buildings.
Superintendent Ned Speicher reviewed the Guaranteed Energy Savings report with the school board this week.
Speicher commented, “We have a solar energy contract that guarantees us so much savings. We were guaranteed about $50,000 in solar savings this year and we actually greatly exceeded that. We had $197,000 in savings. We’re very pleased with it at this stage and it’s exceeding expectations on cost savings. That’s good news!”
The solar field has been operational for about a year-and-a-half and it is situated atop the corporation’s buildings.
