Two Granger residents were arrested on suspicion of impaired driving following an accident in the area of U.S. 6 and Lilac Road in Marshall County in the overnight hours Sunday.
Marshall County Sheriff’s Department deputies were notified of a roll over crash at approximately 2:50 a.m. ET near the intersection of U.S. 6 and Lilac Road. Officers conducted an investigation where they determined that alcohol was a contributing factor of the single vehicle crash, according to the report.
The driver, 37-year-old Shantelle Burress, was reportedly found to be the only occupant of the car and she was arrested on a preliminary misdemeanor charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person.
During the investigation, 31-year-old James Burress arrived to check on his wife and officers allegedly found him to be in an intoxicated state and further investigation was conducted. They were booked into the Marshall County Jail and later posted a $1,505 cash bond.
Suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
