Governor Eric Holcomb proclaimed February 20-26 as Emergency Management Agency Appreciation week.
Counties throughout Indiana have emergency management officers who take steps to reduce their communities’ vulnerability to hazards and to help cope with disasters. Emergency Management Agencies (EMAs) work with other public safety partners and organizations to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from emergencies.
We recognize the efforts and accomplishments of all dedicated emergency managers statewide.
Marshall County EMA Director Clyde Avery, Starke County EMA Director Joe Williams, and Pulaski County EMA Director Sheri Gaillard have been working hard this winter season to inform residents of snow events, high water, road closures, and flooding issues. They also stay busy in the spring and summertime with severe weather.
Pass along appreciation to these hard working individuals this week and throughout the year!
