The closure of county government offices in Marshall County on Friday has pushed the candidate filing deadline to Monday, February 7 at noon ET.
The original deadline was Friday, February 4 at noon ET, but Indiana Code (IC 3-5-4-1.5) allows the Clerk’s Office to extend the deadline through noon of the next day that the office is open for public business if the action to be performed is the receipt of a filing. At this time, the next day that the courthouse is scheduled to be open is Monday, February 7.
Several races have already formed for the 2022 Primary Election in May. A list of candidates can be found on our website at max983.net. The list will soon be updated with this week’s filings and then updated again after the noon ET deadline on Monday.
