More counties are leaving the red status on the Indiana Department of Health’s County Metrics map. Marshall County, Starke County and Pulaski County are now in the orange status which indicates a high community spread of COVID-19. In all, there are 36 counties in the orange status on the map.
Four counties are in the yellow status including Lake, Jasper, LaGrange and Adams, while the rest of the state remains in the red status.
In Wednesday’s update from the Indiana Department of Health, there were 10 new COVID-19 cases reported in Marshall County, three in Starke County and five in Pulaski County. They were among 1,450 people in the state who have tested positive with COVID-19 between February 14 and February 15.
Another 125 people in the state have died of COVID-19, including one person in Marshall County and two people in Pulaski County.
The number of COVID-19 patients in hospitals around the state is down to 1,525. The hospital census has not been this low since November 19.
