Flood Warnings in Effect for Yellow River in Plymouth, Tippecanoe River

A Flood Warning is in effect through Monday, February 21 for the Yellow River in Plymouth.   The river is currently at 11.95 feet and is expected to rise to moderate flood stage, 14.5 feet, by Saturday morning.  The flood stage is at 13 feet.  At 14 feet, the small trailer park near the Jefferson Street bridge begins to flood.  At 14.5 feet, the parking lto on E. LaPorte Street begins to flood. 

A Flood Warning is now in effect from Friday afternoon until further notice for the Tippecanoe River.  The river is currently at 12.85 feet and rising.  Flood stage is 12 feet.  At 14 feet, some flooding begins to occur along Blackford Drive in Tippecanoe.

According to Marshall County Emergency Management Agency Director Clyde Avery, flooding of low-lying areas will persist through the weekend. Warming temperatures will cause the recent snow to melt.   

Sand and sandbags are available at the old EMA Office located at 9515 King Road in Plymouth which is just north of the Marshall County Highway Garage.  Individuals will need to bring their own shovel.
