Bremen Parks and Recreation Board Seeking Public Input on Five-Year Park Plan

The Bremen Parks and Recreation Department members are working on updating the five-year Parks Master Plan and the public is invited to comment on the draft plan in order to help the board decide on priorities in the next five years.

They kicked off the planning process in May 2021.  The updated plan reflects the needs and aspirations of residents who utilize the town’s parks.  Projects at Sunnyside Park, Shadyside Park, Jane’s Park Playground, and Shumaker Westside Park are included in the board plans.

Public input surveys have shown that park visitors would like to see more community events and festivals, arts and culture, and more nature walks and hiking.  They would also like to see more sports training, and exercise or fitness classes, plus canoeing and kayaking.  Other top priorities include sharing of facilities with Bremen Public Schools, streamline notifications of parks events and programs, and expand community events to be offered by local civic groups.

The draft five-year Parks Master Plan can be found below, or a copy can be found at the Bremen Town Hall.  Comments on the plan will be taken until Tuesday, February 22 at 4 p.m. ET by using the online comment form.  A link can be found here
