Bourbon Police Chief Martin commends BPD, Street and Utilities on Teamwork during Winter Storm

BOURBON — Bourbon Police Department (BPD) Chief William “Bill” Martin commended the department on their efforts during the winter storm for helping multiple people.

“I would also like to commend the Street and Water Department on their actions during that storm.”

He shared one example of a gentleman who was in need of medication after his release from the hospital. The Marshall County Highway Department was unable to plow his road yet. “Roger (Terry) came out and plowed it and he got his medication.”

Chief Martin reported 528 Daily Log Entries.

The BPD Activity Report for January 2022 included 2 accidents reported, 9 uniform traffic tickets, 0 ordinance tickets, 24 school patrols, 7 written warnings, 49 verbal warnings, 1 vehicle identification check, 19 traffic details including radar checks, 2 motorist assists, 7 attempts to locate and 11 foot patrols.

The BPD Criminal Activity Report for January 2022 included 7 felony arrests, 17 misdemeanor arrests, 3 incident reports assigned, 9 case reports assigned, and 2 alarms.

The BPD Administrative and General Report included 56 office details, 3 firearms applications, 2 record checks / processing, 14 general complaints, 18 requests for service, 69 security checks, 66 public contacts, 22 assists to other agencies, 2 animal complaints, 4 notices served, 3 doors or windows found open, 3 family disturbance complaints, 5 suspicious persons or vehicles, and 9 calls to 9-1-1.

The types of arrests include 1 Learners Permit Violation, 5 speed arrests averaging 23 m.p.h. over the posted speed limit, 1 warrant arrest, 1 arrest for Domestic Battery in the presence of a minor, 1 arrest for Possession of a Handgun without a license, 1 arrest for Child Molestation, 3 arrests for Possession of a Narcotic Drug, 8 for Marijuana, 7 for Paraphernalia, 1 arrest for Operator Never Licensed, 1 for Sexual Battery, 2 for Battery, and 1 for Operating While Intoxicated.
