The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill advisory for the area Wednesday, January 26 from 1 a.m. to 11 a.m. ET.
The minimum wind chill range is forecast to be between -15 and -20.
If working outdoors, pay attention to weather forecasts and wind chill readings. Exposed skin can develop frostbite in a matter of minutes so limit time spent outside.
Dress in several layers of warm clothing, wear apparel that covers exposed skin, and watch for signs of frostbite. Early signs include changes in skin color, prickling, and numbness.
When traveling in cold weather, carry emergency supplies and warm clothing. Tell others of the desired destination and route of travel.
