The United Way of Marshall County and the Marshall County Community Foundation are working with the local faith community, nonprofits, businesses, and volunteers to conduct a survey to collect data on homelessness and housing insecurities in Marshall County.
The Point-in-Time count is set for Wednesday, January 26.
Families and individuals who have relied on county trustees, churches or charities to help with housing are asked to participate in the count. Those who are facing eviction are also asked to participate, along with those who rely on couch surfing, or feel they are forced to reside in an unsafe place. Multiple families staying in a single residence may also be included in the survey.
Accurate data will help leaders respond in the best way possible to serve and help households and individuals experiencing homelessness.
The Point-in-Time locations to include the Bread of Life Food Pantry from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Marshall County Neighborhood Center from 10 a.m. to noon and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Plymouth Goodwill at 1547 Pilgrim Lane from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. ET.
Volunteers interested in assisting may email Angie Rupchock-Schafer at arschafer@marshallcountycf.org.
