The Plymouth City Council members agreed last week to extend the current COVID-19 paid leave policy through the end of February.
The city’s policy has been to allow employees to continue to be paid up to 80 hours when out of the office after testing positive with COVID-19. An employee would have to use personal benefit time if sick leave extends past 80 hours.
Human Resources Manager Jennifer Klingerman stated that the CDC’s new isolation policy has changed to include a five-day isolation period if fever free after 48 hours of isolation. If the employee returns to work within five days, then a mask would need to be worn for a few more days as a precaution.
The council members unanimously agreed to extend the current COVID-19 paid leave policy until more decisions are made on a federal and state level concerning potential vaccination and COVID-19 testing discussions.
