Firefighters from the Bourbon and Tippecanoe Township Fire Departments and officers from the Bourbon Police Department recently participated in training with the newly purchased LUCAS 3 Automated CPR devices.
The Bourbon Town Council recently approved the purchase of the LUCAS devices with American Recovery Plan funds.
Strycker Medical Representative Pierce Szubelak facilitated the training on the device that provides consistent, non-stop and effective CPR to patients suffering from a life threatening cardiac event. The device allows responders to focus on other life-saving measures and uninterrupted CPR to the patient at the scene and during transport to the hospital.
The devices are now in use by the departments so emergency responders can help residents who need assistance.
